GERMAN CHOCOLATE CHEESE CAKE


GERMAN CHOCOLATE CHEESE CAKE

Recipe from chefcoch modified just a bit.

INGREDIENTS:

Pastry:
  • 200 g All purpose Flour
  • 100 g Sugar
  • Backing Powder
  • Vanilla Sugar or Vanilla extract
  • 40 g Dark Chocolate Cocoa powder
  • 120 g Vegan Margarine 
  • Soya Milk
Cream:
  • Vegan custard
  • 400 g Soya yogurt
  • Vanilla Sugar or Vanilla extract 
  • 1/2 lemon (juice)

PREPARATION:


Pastry preparation:

Mix together all dry ingredients. Add then the margarine and the quantity of soya milk you find necessary to obtain the consistent of a short crust pastry.

Keep 1/3 or less of the pastry. You will need it to make crumbs from the top decoration of the cake. Place the rest of the pastry dough into a high backing pan and adjust it building up as well a high border around the edges, which will old the cream later. 

Leave it in the fridge for about an hour.

Cream preparation:

Preheat oven to 160ºC.

Make the vegan custard first. Regarding the quantity of the custard to prepare, I would suggest for four people, but if you like more, then more! :) 
Then, add to the custard the other ingredients. 

N.B. For the custard cream you might want to try the recipe that I listed, or you could use bird's custard powder mixed with soya milk, or you can even buy it.

Place it on top of the pastry you left in the fridge. Using the bit of pastry you saved before, make some crumbs and sprinkle them on top, as decoration. 

Backe for 40-45 minutes.
