FALAFEL


FALAFEL

A learn this recipe from my friend Moha!

Falafel are delicious and even gluten free!!! 

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 500 g dry chick peas
  2. 2 onions
  3. 2 green peppers
  4. chilly or cayenne
  5. a bunch of fresh parsley
  6. oil for deep fry the falafel

PREPARATION:


The dry chickpeas need to be place in water for at least one day, refresh the water whenever you can.

Use a food processor or mixer to ground the chickpeas and the other ingredients.


Heat the oil until it reaches high temperature, this is really important. 


Use your hand to make falafel balls or to mould them like burgers. And place them in the oil in order to deep fry them. Turn them using a fork when they are dark golden.


Serve them with hummus sauce or make a delicious falafel burger :)


N.B. If you don't ground the chickpeas properly and/or the oil is not hot enough the falafel might open while you are frying them.  You should ground them properly or check the oil temperature. If you can't do that add a bit of flour (better if check peas flour).
